BEF Supports PIE: Partners in Education!
In our valley, in order to meet the most basic educational needs of our children, special programs, such as music, art and outdoor education, may not receive adequate funding. The Basalt Education Foundation helps to change that. We are a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to giving all of Basalt's children the opportunity to grow and explore areas of education that go beyond reading and writing and into music, art and beyond. Each year, BEF contributes thousands to Basalt's three public schools. Money raised through the annual Taste of Basalt benefit helps pay for computers, instruments for music classrooms, art supplies, books and resource materials, and funds a host of special academic programs. As budget cuts for education continue to come down from the Colorado Legislature, valley residents know that community fundraising can make a big difference. Please help us make the future beautiful for ALL of Basalt’s school children.

BEF Helps ACES Expand in Basalt Elementary School BEF is proud to support the Aspen Center for Environmental Studies (ACES) in bringing full-time environmental science programming to Basalt Elementary School. BEF is one of several organization offering monetary support to ACES on behalf of BES. The expanded program, which began this school year, allows students in kindergarten through fourth grades to experience environmental science as a regular class in their weekly specials rotation. The program will also take students on several field trips a year to ACES' Rock Bottom Ranch. Click here to read more.
