Raising funds to enhance education in Basalt public schools

Through our annual fundraisers, the Taste of Basalt and the Roaring Fork Charity Classic golf tournament, as well as generous corporate and community donations, we work directly with teachers and administrators to help the local elementary, middle and high schools deliver innovative, creative programming and experiences for every student.

Over the past two decades, BEF has contributed more than $600,000 to the Basalt schools to support outdoor education, technology, literacy, hands-on science, art, music, and many other relevant and enriching programs for students. However, the need for additional funding is constant. Colorado currently ranks 43rd in the United States in per pupil funding. Our state spends $9,020 per student each school year, which is $2,715 less than the national average.* With every donation we receive, we can continue to assist our local schools in providing students with the highest quality education possible.

BEF is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and all donations are tax-deductible per IRS guidelines. Our 17-member executive board includes school parents, business leaders and Basalt town staff.

  • "Without financial assistance from the Basalt Education Foundation, the sophomore class would not have been able to participate in the Model United Nations and World Affairs Challenge on the Front Range this year. The funds were of great help in covering registration, lodging and transportation costs for about 95 students."

We all know the best education for children isn’t solely reading, writing and ‘rithmetic. Your donation to the Basalt Education Foundation helps support enriching public-school programs that go well beyond textbook teaching.
