How to Sign Up as a Volunteer

Here’s a simple step-by-step guide to sign up as a volunteer on POINT (our volunteer platform).
It takes less than 3 minutes!

1. Go to BEF’s POINT website.

2. Click on “Sign Up” or “Join” (or similar) to create a volunteer account.

3. Fill in required information: your name, email address, password, and any other profile details the system asks for.

4. Explore the volunteer opportunities feed or directory. You’ll see causes (e.g., environment, education, food security) and events you can join.

5. When you find an event that interests you, click “Go” or the equivalent to sign up for it. The platform confirms your spot and may send a confirmation email or notification.

6. Before the event happens, you’ll receive reminders and details (time, location, what to bring) via email or the app. POINT

7. On or before the event, check-in as required (via the app/website or at the location) so your time gets logged. POINT

8. After volunteering, you can view your hours and past activity in your volunteer profile on POINT.
